One of my favorite things about this book is that the rakish villian Henry Crawford really does seem to love Fanny and devotes himself to her, although he reverts to old habits, I love how Austin gave his caracter some depth! Plus Fanny Rocks!!!

Hi Sarah & anyone else reading this! Even though it's not my favorite, I too enjoyed Mansfield Park. I also liked Austin's characters. I especially liked some of the dialog between Miss Crawford and Edmund, when she didn't know he wanted to become a minister. Very funny! At least in this book the minister is decent, not like Mr. Collins! The one thing that dissappointed me in this book was the ending. It seemed to me that Austin became tired of the story and decided to end it abrubtly. Anyone else agree?

Now on to my favorite. I like Emma best, maybe because it was the first that I read of Austin's books. It was an assignment for Jesse in high school and I had to push myself to keep up with my son. Again the characters are great although I had to write on a 3x5 card the names and who they were related to. It took me awhile to figure out that Miss Woodhouse and Emma were the same people! Once I got the characters straight it went pretty smoothly and there is wonderful humor in this book as well. Emma's dad is a hoot! And how about another goofy minister! Don't just watch the movie, read the book!
